On Saturday night, April 20-21, more than 500 participants braved the weather for the second edition of the Night Against Sexual Violence in Amsterdam. Initiated by Plan International NL, participants walked 20 km through the night to take a stand against sexual violence. Collectively, €108,000 was raised.
The fact that many people do not feel safe on the streets at night emphasizes the importance of initiatives like this one, organized by Plan International NL. After the unveiling of the record amount of donations, it was time to grab our jackets and brave the night. But of course, not without a warm-up… and what better way to warm up your muscles than with an energetic dance?
The enthusiasm of the participants was impressive! It was a joy to be able to provide the warm-up with our team and to see how everyone participated with conviction. Just as convincing as the message that was shared this night: Sexual violence and street harassment must stop. No one should feel unsafe, anywhere in the world.
