Today marks the official launch of the campaign to strengthen social safety within the Dutch dance sector.
In collaboration with partners from the sports world – including POS (Platform for Entrepreneurial Sports Providers) – Dans Veilig is supporting dance schools and organizations in creating a safe, respectful, and professional dance environment.
A Safe Dance Sector Starts with Trust
Everyone deserves to dance in an environment that is safe, inclusive, and enjoyable.
The main focus of this campaign is to encourage dance schools to request a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) for their staff.
By applying for a VOG, dance schools demonstrate that they are committed to providing a trustworthy and professional environment.
It builds confidence among students, parents, and colleagues alike.
Unfortunately, the free VOG scheme is not available to dance schools.
Because costs should never be a barrier to improving social safety, Dans Veilig highlights an existing support program within the sports sector that dance schools can apply for.
Support Budget Available
From Monday, November 10 through Friday, November 14, 2026, entrepreneurial sports providers – including dance schools – can apply for a support budget of €449 via Clubbase.nl.
To be eligible, your organization must be a foundation, association, or business with sports as its core activity.
This budget can help strengthen your dance school’s efforts toward social safety, inclusion, and professional development.
A practical and valuable use of these funds is to cover the cost of VOG applications for your staff.
Do your teachers, assistants, or supervisors work with minors or other vulnerable individuals?
Then a VOG is strongly recommended.
Even for other roles – such as front desk, administrative, or financial staff – a VOG contributes to a culture of trust and accountability.
See the step-by-step guide to applying for a VOG (Dutch) to get started.
