On February 1st and 2nd, 2025, the two-day Dance Medicine course took place at the Sports Medicine building in Bilthoven. During this course, doctors, physiotherapists, and other specialists working with dancers gathered to share knowledge and deepen their understanding of dancers’ health and safety.

In addition to inspiring lectures by experts like Matthew Wyon and Janine Stubbe, Dans Veilig gave a presentation on the importance of social safety in the dance sector.  It was inspiring to see how many professionals are committed to a healthy, safe, and sustainable future for dancers.

The course covered various topics, including:

  • Physical and mental load
  • Injury prevention and safety
  • Rehabilitation & prehabilitation
  • Nutrition and psychology

In addition to gaining new knowledge and insights, it was also a valuable opportunity to connect with other professionals who are dedicated to creating a safer and healthier dance world. Together, we continue to work towards a sector where dancers can develop physically, mentally, and socially safe!
