Dans Veilig is conducting a needs assessment to better understand the needs of dance professionals in the Netherlands. Do you work in the dance sector as a performing artist, choreographer, rehearsal director, dance teacher, or in another role? Then we invite you to participate in a focus group and share your experiences.

The focus groups are the first step in this research and aim to gain insight into how dance professionals build their careers and the challenges they face. The findings from these discussions will help shape a broader survey to be conducted later this year.

Practical Information

The focus groups will take place on Tuesday, April 22 from 10:30 a.m. to noon and Friday, April 25 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The sessions will be held online and will last 1.5 hours each. The main language will be English, but questions and answers can be clarified in Dutch if needed. Each session is limited to 15 participants, with each participant attending one session.

The discussions will be facilitated by Elise van Bergenhenegouwen (researcher at POS) and Clara Superfine (project officer at Alliantie Dans Veilig).

We believe it is essential to include a diverse group of dance professionals in this study. Therefore, this call is not only aimed at performing artists but also at choreographers, dance makers, rehearsal directors, movement directors, dance teachers, dance dramaturgs, event and battle organizers, and all other professionals working in the dance field.
